Rum and Butter Breakfast Smoothie Recipe (Hypoglycemia Diet liberal and strict)

This is the season for fruit! I was out of the usual stuff, so had to improvise on several things! This turned out SO good, it was like going to a restaurant and getting one of those fancy milk shakes! :D One of my favorites was Rum and Butter milk Shake, and this is similar! :D
This shake is all about flavor, but still with the protein to make it a good meal :) See the Tips below for more variations on this recipe :)

Ingredients:
1 raw egg (or equivalent protein substitute)
2 ice cubes
2 Tbsp homemade sugar-free yogurt
2 Tbsp un-whipped whipping cream
1/2 cup frozen cantaloup pieces
1 large fresh strawberry
1 tsp Xylitol
1/4 tsp rum flavor (I use all Watkins artificial extracts)
1/4 tsp maple flavor

Toss all in blender, blend for approx 3 minutes, serve! SUPER yummy! :D

Tip: Try some different artificial flavors in your shakes to see what you like! I always add a little Vanilla or Maple flavor to any other flavor, it seems to round out the flavors better :) if you prefer the egg nog type flavor, see Breakfast Shake Recipe.

Tip: Use too much sweetener? Or just too sweet? Pour back in blender with 1- 2 Tbsp (un-whipped) whipping cream and blend for 2 minutes :) TOTALLY fixes it and is SO yummy! :D

Tip: for weight loss(Hypoglycemia strict), use the cantaloup and/or small amount of strawberries only. All other fruits are higher in sugar and will not be as helpful with your weight loss program. Also, substitute cream with a pinch of salt for yogurt to aid in loosing weight. Cream has no natural sugars!

Tip: This is a fabulous substitute for a meal when you are running late, or a great snack to take with you to work, just pop a few ice cubes in your to-go cup to keep it cold and shake it up every now and then.

Tip: Use other berries instead of cantaloup and add 1 tsp ground flax for some essential omega oils and roughage! (Flax does not go well with the cantaloup!)
